News on what's new with SkyCop

Winter 2008 – “SkyCop® goes Real-time with Blue Crush”

The City of Memphis Police Department in Tennessee unleashes its latest tool in its “Blue Crush” effort to protect the streets of Memphis. SkyCop® is at the heart of the new Real Time Crime Center providing live video feeds from both fixed position and mobile SkyCop® units. Not only used for day-to-day activities,  but the city-wide SkyCop® wireless mesh system allows for temporary units to be deployed in a matter of hours for monitoring of special events such as “Memphis in May” and the Martin Luther King anniversary ceremonies.

Summer 2008 – “SkyCop® gets called to Duty”

SkyCop® is again called up by the US Army to perform guard duty on a four mile stretch of road twisting through the Ozark Mountain Range and leading into the Fort Leonard Wood facility in Missouri. Challenging, but not impossible, a product was needed that required no utility or communication connectivity since no infrastructure existed down the roadway. There was a need for a custom developed application, and the SkyCop® TSS (Transportable Surveillance Substation) was produced. SkyCop® technology allows for sun tracking with self-tracking solar arrays, video analytics, radar speed detection, and license plate recognition systems.

Spring 2008 – “SkyCop® goes campaigning in DC”

After seeing many successful applications for the SkyCop® product family, a new request was made by the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency for protection of the new NCE construction site.   The location was one of the largest campuses to be constructed on the East Coast in the last 25 years. The SkyCop® mobile platform was selected with some additional enhancements such as its own solar power plant, thermal imaging camera technology and other bells and whistles specifically tailored for the application.

Spring 2008 – “SkyCop® Downsizing”

No corporate downsizing here!! Although having a smaller footprint than the original mobile platform, the new SkyCop® “Cadet” packs all the same punch as its predecessor, the SkyCop® “Major”. Complete with cellular, wireless mesh, and full on board digital recording, the Cadet units also incorporate there own power plant with generator, batteries, and power inverter. Options include license plate recognition and radar display units to allow for advanced surveillance features.

Summer 2008 “SkyCop Has All the Right Stuff”

The new MLPR unit offers all the right technologies bundled into a high performance vehicle installable package. Features include license plate recognition, thermal image CCTV camera, pan / tilt unit, dash mounted touch screen controller, digital recorder, cellular link, wireless mesh link, and additional camera inputs.

Fall 2008 – “SkyCop® Provides Repeat Performance”

In the fall of 2008 US Army Base Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri expanded its base-wide surveillance capabilities with the addition of the newest offering in the SkyCop® family the MRSS (Mesh Repeater Surveillance Station). The unit is complete with solar power plant, SkyCop® mesh radio system and high Resolution PTZ camera assembly. Completely self-contained and re-locatable the MRSS offers flexibility for permanent and temporary deployment applications.
